About Us

About Us

Exclusive to obstetricians and gynecologists, the focus of the Ob-Gyn Risk Alliance is to help improve patient care through state-of-the-art risk management programs. These programs are designed to address special patient safety issues and professional liability insurance needs that only obstetricians and gynecologists experience. Working together, we can help ensure you experience less stress by way of increased patient safety, fewer claims, and fair premiums.

ProAssurance companies underwrite and issue your professional liability policy through the Ob-Gyn Risk Alliance risk purchasing group program. ProAssurance Group is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best. ProAssurance is also committed to seeing that you are Treated Fairly®, a value we share. The Ob-Gyn Risk Alliance and ProAssurance have worked together to build your policy, the patient safety program, and the underwriting, risk management, and claims teams who will be with you every step of the way.

Your Exclusive Program

To provide you with an exclusive program aimed at your needs as an Ob-Gyn, we completed these steps:

  • Reviewed statistically-valid data on the impact of patient safety measures on obstetrical and gynecological claims;
  • Had the program underwritten by an insurance company that can offer a depth of experience and success with Ob-Gyn professional liability claims and patient safety management—ProAssurance; and
  • Forged a program that recognizes your status and unique concerns—from underwriting to risk management and claims.

When rigorously followed by obstetricians, standardized forms, processes, routines, and policies and procedures enhance patient safety and improve outcomes. Enhanced patient safety and improved outcomes dramatically reduce the risk and stress of claims that obstetricians and gynecologists face. Working together, we can help ensure you experience less stress by way of increased patient safety, fewer claims, and fair premiums.

 Mission Statement

Our mission is to support and partner with Obstetric and Gynecologic providers in their efforts to reduce medical errors and enhance patient safety while controlling liability loss. We do this by offering Ob Gyn focused practice improvement tools and medical liability insurance solutions, along with evidence based risk management programs and resources.
